As Stony Brook has grown, so too has our impact. Seawolves are writing their own history, reaching across industries, institutions and disciplines to create a brighter world. Every day you feel their influence in New York. You see the fruits of their innovation all over the country. Their creativity and tenacity touches people across the world.
This year’s 40 Under Forty celebrated a distinguished group of alumni who have made significant strides early in their careers, earning recognition for their achievements in healthcare, technology, public service, academia and environmental sciences, among other fields.
We have Seawolves who have founded NGOs, undertaken groundbreaking research, pioneered new approaches to breast cancer treatment, helped to write critical legislation, created a more diverse and equitable field of STEM, ensured accessibility for people with disabilities, authored books and received multiple patents. That’s just a few of their accomplishments.
These alumni are chairpersons, presidents, founders, directors, advocates, doctors, authors, scientists, ambassadors, officers, explorers — and so much more.
